Presenter Highlight: Eriko Gonzalez Rodriguez

Eriko Gonzalez Rodriguez - Artisan, Isozaki

Eriko was born and raised in Japan, and came to America after getting married. She has loved kimonos since she was little, and her mother often dressed her in them. She had an image of it being for special occasions, so she wanted to make accessories that would feel more familiar for everyday use, and she started making accessories using Japanese patterned fabrics and kimono fabrics. She loves seeing the joy that comes from making accessories for many children and young women.

She started selling her work and having many people treasured them. She named her shop “Isozaki”, which is the surname she was born with. Recently, she has been holding seminars to teach people to make these accessories.

Meet her and other presenters at the Asian Summer Festival!🎐🏮🧧
