Dr. Yung-Yung Chang - Educator, Chinese Tea Ceremony and the History of Chinese Characters

Dr. Chang has over 8 years of experience in teaching Chinese at post-secondary level in the U.S. Currently a Professor of Asian Studies at Catholic University of America specializing in Chinese culture and language, she was an associate instructor at the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana University Bloomington. She has taught language courses across first- to fifth-year levels, with drill and lecture sessions across second- and third-year levels in the intensive summer language workshop.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Chinese Pedagogy and a Ph.D. in Chinese Linguistics from the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at the Indiana University of Bloomington. Trained in the field of teaching Chinese as a second language and Chinese Psycholinguistics, she continues to explore and adopt innovative pedagogical approaches in language teaching. Yung-Yung believes that her mission is to assist students to experience diverse cultures, beliefs, and perspectives, enabling them to develop a holistic view of the human person, worldviews, and symbolic systems of communication.
